Quick Romance: How Literature United a Celebrity Duo

Bound together by a love of reading, these two stars “could write a book” about finding the right partner.

The couple have set a date in 2025 to “tie the knot” for good, and books played a huge role in the entire process.

A healthy, loving relationship is not easy to build and all couples strive to be on the same page. Naturally, this can take months or years, but for celebrity couple Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner, their love of reading made their connection quick, natural, and fun.

Now, this celebrity power couple are living their own romance novel and can teach all of us about #couplegoals

Dua Lipa seems to be living the dream life. She’s Beautiful, talented, and well read. So well read, in fact, that she has her own book club, Service95, where she reveals her monthly favorites with her nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram and 21,000 on TikTok. It’s clear to see that reading, books, and literature are a major part of Dua Lipa’s life.

So, this begs the question: what book was she reading when she met the love of her life? The same exact book Callum was reading – seriously!

She and Turner were first introduced over drinks before the birthday party of a mutual friend. Turner reminisces about the star-aligning moment when they both discovered they were not only reading the same book, but were on the same exact page as one-and-other!

The book was Hernan Diaz’s ‘Trust’, a Pulitzer Prize winning novel about a Wall Street billionaire and his wife, set in 1920s New York City. Though Lipa and Turner were on the other side of the country in Los Angeles, their partnership would turn out to be just as fruitful.

Turner details that the pair were even on the literal same page of the novel, having just finished chapter one. Talk about fate! He jokes that in the on-screen version of their meeting, he would have looked up at the stars, thankful for having met her.

So where are they now?

Lipa and Turner are engaged as of April 2025 and we cannot wait for what will certainly be the wedding of the century. Not to mention, some really cute kids when the couple decides to start a family, as Lipa has shared that she would like some day.

What have we learned?

Common interests mean a lot in any relationship. If you have no shared interests discussions, trips, even nights out can become a huge challenge. If you’re looking to find “the one,” pick up a book.
